
Zimbabwe
Known officially as the Republic of Zimbabwe, it is a landlocked country in the Southeast of Africa, between the Zambezi and Limpopo Rivers, it is bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the southwest, Zambia to the north, and Mozambique to the east. The capital and largest city is Harare, and the second largest is Bulawayo.

A country of roughly 16.6 million people as per 2024 census, Zimbabwe has 16 official languages, however with English, Shona, and Ndebele the most common. In 2023, Zimbabwe’s nominal GDP was $35.23 billion, and its real GDP was $23.05 billion, with a GDP per capita of $1,411 The agriculture and food sector contributes to 17% of GDP. The services sector is the major contributor to GDP, averaging over 50% since 2010.

The Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) is the currency of Zimbabwe in alliance with the United States of America Dollar (USD). The total road network length in Zimbabwe is 97,267 Km of which 20% is surfaced, 14% is gravel and 66% is earth roads.
Zimbabwe has three licensed Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) network operators namely Econet Wireless, Net-One, and Telecel.
Internet Users: There were 5.74 million internet users in Zimbabwe in January 2023. Average Download Speed: The average download speed for Zimbabwean internet is 7.92Mbps. Internet Penetration: Zimbabwe’s internet penetration rate was 34.8% of the total population in January 2023.

Historic Info
The Reserve Bank is the successor to the Central Currency Board, which had the sole right to issue currency. The Reserve Bank is headquartered at 80 Samora Machel Avenue. The reserve bank building, was once billed as the most technologically advanced building in Zimbabwe and was officially opened on May 31 1996.
